The battle of the red carpet was a tie between our favourite fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker (in a stunning, yet simple old style Hollywood pale yellow strapless by Chanel) and Cameron Diaz, also flying the flag for vintage style glamour in a gilt strapless A-line by Oscar De La Renta. But the award must to to SJP, because we loved her Hollywood up do - and the fact she's taken on a designer and creative role at Halston. Also worthy of a mention was Oscar winner Sandra Bullock, who adopted a much more elegant dress code in a glittering silver beaded and encrusted dress with dazzling accessories. As for the full report card for the 82nd annual academy awards - apart from the grand old dames Meryl Streep (chic in simple white) and Helen Mirren (lovely in sheer lavendar with hints of bling) - alas it will go down as the year the screen sirens tried way to hard to get it right.  Missing the mark was Charlize Theron who topped SR's worst dressed list in a two toned pink Barbie gown complete with rosette breast detail. Also disappointing was the usually flawless Kate Winslett in a too tight silver metallic bodice and skirt. Neutral appeared to be the order of the day, but it was far too complicated on Demi. While the normally fashion fabulous Maggie Gyllenhaal struggled to pull off loud print. With the Oscars over, and SJP still our number one in the style stakes, all we can say is come on 1 July - that's when Sex And The City The Sequel hits the screens.
